A transfer helper is suitable for employers who urgently need a helper. The process typically takes 3-7 days. For an overseas helper, the duration varies depending on the helper’s country of origin. It usually takes 3-6 weeks for a new or existing helper to arrive in Singapore. However, the exact arrival date depends on the availability of the Entry Approval issued by MOM. If additional document processing is required (based on the helper’s country’s legislation), it may take 1-2 months for your helper to arrive. After arrival, the helper must undergo a medical checkup at a licensed clinic, attend the SIP course (for first-time workers), and complete thumbprint authentication with MOM before we can hand over the helper to you.
Yes. If you hire a helper under the standard levy, the levy is $300 per month. If you qualify for the concessionary policy, the levy is $60 per month.
If your household includes a Singaporean senior citizen aged 67 or above, or a child below 16 years old (both must live at the same address), you qualify for the concessionary levy.
Yes, you must purchase insurance before the domestic helper’s work permit is issued. The insurance must cover the helper’s medical and accidental expenses and must be arranged before the helper arrives in Singapore.
You must provide at least one rest day per week. However, there can be an agreement on compensation with the Migrant Domestic Worker to work on rest days. But the minimum requirement would still be one rest day per month (which cannot be compensated away).
You must also providelegal accommodation, adequate food, and regular medical check-ups every six months. For more details, please refer to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) website.
